Supporting the Next Generation of Ethical, Competent Clinicians

Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision is more than a licensure requirement. It is an opportunity to strengthen clinical skills, build professional confidence, and grow as an ethical social work practitioner.

At Mindful Living Social Work, supervision is collaborative, reflective, and grounded in evidence-based social work practice. Whether you are pursuing NYS licensure or seeking to enhance your clinical competence, supervision is tailored to your professional goals while maintaining the highest standards of ethical and effective practice.

Who Can Benefit From Supervision?

Clinical supervision may be a good fit for social workers or mental health clinicians who are seeking guidance, support, and professional development throughout their professional journey.

My Supervision Philosophy

I believe effective supervision is built on trust, collaboration, reflection, and accountability. My supervision style is supportive, engaging, and grounded in trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally responsive practices. I strive to create a learning environment where supervisees feel comfortable asking questions, exploring clinical challenges, and developing confidence in their professional judgment.

Supervision is a space for growth, curiosity, and honest reflection. I incorporate appropriate humor, real-life examples, and practical application to help bridge the gap between social work knowledge and the realities of clinical practice.

My goal is to support clinicians in developing not only their clinical skills, but also their professional voice, confidence, and ability to navigate the complexities of the work.

Internship and Field Education Opportunities

In addition to clinical supervision, we support the development of future social workers through education, mentorship, and field instruction.

With experience in Seminar in Field Instruction (SIFI) training and social work education, opportunities may be available for social work students seeking a supportive learning environment to develop professional skills, connect classroom knowledge to practice, and build confidence in the field.

Interested students, schools, or programs are encouraged to contact us to discuss potential internship opportunities.

Licensure Requirements & Supervision Eligibility

Prior to beginning clinical supervision for licensure purposes, prospective supervisees are responsible for confirming that their employment setting meets the New York State Education Department (NYSED) Office of the Professions requirements for qualifying clinical experience toward LCSW/LMHC licensure.

Mindful Living Social Work provides clinical supervision and professional support; however, supervisees are responsible for ensuring they meet all applicable licensure requirements, including maintaining appropriate employment, documentation, and clinical hour requirements.

Supervisees are encouraged to review current NYSED guidelines and consult with the Office of the Professions regarding their individual licensure pathway. More information can be found at https://www.op.nysed.gov/professions-index
